The original 1851 yacht America, the New England sea gull, the pineapple (a symbol of hospitality), the 13-star Union Jack, and the Castle Hill lighthouse at the entrance to the Narragansett Sound in Rhode Island are all framed within an early Americana geometric quilt layout in Newport Sailor, which was inspired by motifs well-known for their popularity and connection to the America's Cup.
